The news was announced by Sony on the PlayStation Blog, alongside a preview about what to expect.
“Tomorrow’s broadcast will focus on updates to previously announced games coming to PlayStation consoles.
“From indie and PS VR2 highlights, to major upcoming titles from our third-party partners, our latest show has something for everyone!
“Here at PlayStation, our vision is to be the best place to play, and publish, great games. And because there are thousands of developers and publishers all around the world constantly making great games, our team has their work cut out for them.
“I hope you can tune in tomorrow to check out a diverse selection of upcoming games.”
Based on a recent leak, the PS5 Slim is very similar to the existing model, only with a thinner base and removable side plate for adding a detachable disc drive.
Sony will reportedly stop producing the current PS5 models before the end of the year, which will help the company reduce costs.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is also guaranteed to make an appearance during the event. Launching in October, the game features both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters.
“Spider-Men Peter Parker and Miles Morales face the ultimate test of strength inside and outside the mask as they fight to save the city, each other and the ones they love, from the monstrous Venom and the dangerous new symbiote threat.
“Explore an expansive Marvel’s New York with faster web-swinging and the all-new Web Wings, quickly switching between Peter and Miles to experience different stories, epic new abilities and high-tech gear.”
Fans will also be hoping to hear more about the upcoming Wolverine game, which is said to be in full development.
Check back on September 14 for all the updates and announcements from the PlayStation State of Play event.
