LLA returns this weekend through online games – Daily Esports

The League of Legends Latin America League (LLA) has announced the continuation of its matches this weekend. Previously, Riot Games decided to suspend the games, along with its other leagues, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Since then, they have found a way to broadcast the rest of their games without live audiences or staff. The LLA, in particular, plans to stream its games online with the rest of the staff working from home.

In an exciting Twitter announcement, the LLA is finally back up and running. They will continue Week 5 starting on Saturday with every team playing in their respective Gaming House. This is great news for their 42,000 followers as the highly anticipated games were originally scheduled to end next week. Since the delay, Riot staff and teams were unsure of when the games would continue and whether they would follow behind the other leagues.

On March 18, the LLA told fans it was looking for solutions on how to continue the matches online. Although they asked other leagues for advice, they felt ill-equipped on the technology side. Some testing needed to be done to ensure game integrity, connection, and more. Luckily, they will finally continue and move forward to the final weeks of the season.

Everyone’s online in League of Legends

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has made things difficult for plenty of esports organizations, many teams are finding a way to retain their audiences. Some are holding scrims online, while others advertise contests and charity streams. The LLA will follow along with the other leagues as it continues to broadcast its games.

The casters and analysts in the LLA are a huge part of the overall show. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to physically interact and discuss with each other, which will bring a different feel and dynamic to the entire broadcast. For some professionals, casting a game online is something out of their comfort zone. Looking back at the streamed games from the other leagues, fans seem to enjoy the show either way.
