Esports organization TSM has announced the addition of an all-women Valorant roster to its lineup of pro teams, joining the growing list of professional esports organizations to expand their Valorant efforts to include a women’s team.
The new squad will compete in the Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers series, a new competition initiative launched by Riot Games to provide high level competition opportunities to marginalized genders.
In its announcement, TSM also shared quotes from representatives of its brand partners including Cadillac, Lenovo, and Logitech G showing support for the new squad.
With active support from Riot Games and the ability for so many players to translate their skill from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (the game which for years has had the most robust women’s competition infrastructure), Valorant has been able to spin up a major women’s esports initiative at every level of competition. Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses have women included on rosters aiming to compete at the highest level of professional play, while organizations like TSM, Dignitas, and Counter Logic Gaming are providing opportunities for women to receive professional-level support to compete in the game’s ever-growing women-focused ecosystem.
