The Battle Pass leveling becomes a bit smoother after Valve increases the point rewards along with a few other boosts meant to enhance the guild and side shop experience.
A week after the TI10 Battle Pass release, the community was still unhappy with the leveling progress and the reward system. Although this year’s pass has a couple of new features and a few more ways to earn Battle Pass points, the main complaint is about the volume of rewards per level compared to previous years. The Dota 2 community has also pointed out that below level 100, the rewards are way too few, which means that a player has to first invest in Battle Points bundles or make the initial pass purchase for a level 100 one to enjoy the experience.
In a post from last night Valve said that they compared the previous year Battle Pass leveling up metrics to this year and discovered that “for battle pass players of all levels, on average players have earned 1.95% more free levels than last year.”
“If we consider only players who after a week were below level 200, on average they have earned 7.91% more free levels than last year,” Valve explained.
However, based on the community feedback, the Dota 2 developer decided to make a couple of changes in order to boost the battle points rewards as follows:
- Wagering battle point rewards are now increased by 50%
- Guild contract battle point rewards are now increased by 100%
- Sideshop gold for Recycling is increased by 65%
- Sideshop gold for Guild contracts and upgrades are increased by 100%
Those who have already used the Side Shop recycle option will receive some extra gold, Valve said.
