Tencent Games announced Monday that it is partnering with Twitch and technology company Xiaomi for a PUBG Mobile tournament in Latin America with influencers and pro players. Named Copa América PocoX3 (America Cup PocoX3), the event will mainly highlight the release of the new smartphone PocoX3 NFC by Xiaomi.
Copa América PocoX3 will feature 25 teams with one influencer, one pro player, one guest, and one player from the audience each, having a prize pool that adds up to $7K USD to be divided between the three first places. The four winning players will also get one Poco X3 NFC smartphone each, while eight wearable activity trackers Mi Band 5 are destined for players in second and third places. The audience will also have the chance of winning the new smartphone and other gifts during the official stream.
The competition will be held on Nov. 21, being broadcast through official PUBG Mobile Twitch channels in Spanish (pubgmobilees) and Portuguese (pubgmobilept). It is the second move by Xiaomi towards LATAM mobile esports markets in less than one month, once it was recently announced as one of the sponsors of an Arena of Valor tournament in Brazil.
