Bandai Namco is planning to release a 2nd Anniversary Update for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown on Tuesday, January 19. According to the Tokyo-based company, the update will include several new skins and emblems, which have been listed below.
So far, total sales for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown have exceeded 2.5 million copies worldwide. Released for the PS4 and Xbox One in January 2019, and for Microsoft Windows the following month, the game includes support for VR with several missions developed for the PS VR headset, as well as downloadable content packs with new missions.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown was the first official sequel to Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, which was released in October 2007 for the Xbox 360. In 2014, Bandai Namco released Ace Combat Infinity, a free-to-play combat flight simulator game for the PS3, which unlike most Ace Combat installments takes place on Earth.

The critically-acclaimed game received the Gold Hall of Fame award from Famitsu and was listed as an Editor’s Choice by IGN.
In June 2019, producers Kazutoki Kono and Manabu Shimomoto revealed that Ace Combat 8 would launch sometime between 2021 and 2025. The game is expected to link directly with Ace Combat 3 and feature “unmanned fighters and manned fighters.”
