Borderlands 3 Reveals Two New Skill Trees From Designer’s Cut (Including FL4K’s Gravity Snare And Amara’s Phaseflare)

Borderlands 3 Designer’s Cut DLC is set to release next month on November 10. This new content will, among other things, bring a bunch of new skills to our beloved Vault Hunters, and Gearbox is offering a sneak peek at a few of the new abilities.

First up is Amara, who will be getting a new Phaseflare Action Skill. This summons a massive controllable orb that lets her deal elemental damage to anyone in its path. She’s also getting the Enlightened Force Skill Tree, giving her the power to freeze foes using Cryo elemental effects. The new Skill Tree will include passive abilities that boost her elemental damage and improve the slowing effects of certain attacks.

FL4K, meanwhile, is getting Gravity Snare – an Active Skill that is perfect for controlling large groups of enemies. The skill has a lengthy duration and, while it’s active, will randomly life enemies into the air before sending them crashing back into the ground. New passives in his Trapper Skill Tree will improve your pet’s durability and improve its damage output.

A full rundown of both Vault Hunters new Skill Trees can be found over on the official Borderlands 3 website. However, only details for Amara and FL4K are currently available – Moze and Zane’s new skills will be shown off during a Twitch broadcast on October 22 at 12pm ET. You’ll also see a reveal of the new Arms Race mode and exclusive developer interviews.

In order to use all this new content, you’ll need to pick up the Designer’s Cut DLC on November 10. If you bought a Season Pass for Borderlands 3 this pack is included with your purchase, otherwise you can still pick it up individually. After the Designer’s Cut, Gearbox is planning to release the Director’s Cut in the spring of 2021.

If you happen to own Borderlands 3 and managed to pre-order a next-gen console, don’t forget that you’re entitled to a free upgrade. There’s a good reason to check it out on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, too – you’ll be able to run it in 4K at 60fps and take advantage of the new 3-4 player split-screen mode.
