Two senior Infinity Ward developer have announced that they left the Call Of Duty studio earlier this year.
Activision has another free Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War weekend taking place this bank holiday, to entice anybody who hasn’t yet purchased the game.
In less good news for the company, two key members of staff have announced that they have left Infinity Ward, specifically narrative director Taylor Kurosaki and design director Jacob Minkoff.
Their departure actually happened several months ago, as a joint statement posted on Kurosaki’s Twitter account states that the pair left the studio earlier in the year. The implication is that they’re both going to be working together in the future, although in what context isn’t clear.
Minkoff had also worked at Naughty Dog, where he served as lead game designer on Uncharted 3 and lead designer on The Last Of Us, before joining Infinity Ward along with Kurosaki.
As for the Black Ops Cold War free weekend, which will also be handing out double experience, it begins today at 6pm and lasts until June 1.
According to the official website, it will provide access to the multiplayer as well as the Zombies mode Outbreak. That also gives new players the chance to be tempted by the Rambo and Die Hard DLC content.
Aside from Rambo and John McClane skins, the 80s Action Heroes event has added new themed modes and a version of Nakatomi Plaza.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
