Call of Duty Modern Warfare update: Battle Pass Double XP before Warzone Season 4 release

A new Call of Duty Modern Warfare update has been released today that’s going to help MW, and Warzone gamers complete their Battle Pass before the start of Season 4.

Call of Duty Season 3 is expected to end next week, around Tuesday, June 2, 2020, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

And that means that the upcoming Modern Warfare Double XP event scheduled for this weekend will be one of the last changes to complete your tiers.

A new message from Activision has confirmed that the Warzone and MW Double XP weekend will be kicking off on Friday, May 29 at around 6pm.

This will run until Monday, June 1, at around the same time in the UK on all platforms.

The Activision message reads: “Double XP, Weapon XP, Double Battle Pass tier progression kicks off this Friday, May 29 at 10AM PT until June 1 at 10 AM PT.

“Earn double the rewards when you jump into a Multiplayer match or drop into Warzone.

“See if you can earn this Season’s blueprint for maxing out your rank and unlock Alex ‘Indomitable’ skin at Tier 100 in the Battle Pass.”

Today’s Modern Warfare update also included a number of different Playlist changes, including the removal of Classic Battle Royale mode in Warzone.

Modern Warfare also received a number of playlist changes, including a new Modified playlist for Special Operation Brimstone, Deathmatch Domination, Drop Zone, Shipment 24/7, Shoot House 24/7, Gun Game on Gunfight Maps, and Plunder Quads.

A message from Activision explains: “Two modes, two playlists: Get nonstop action with Deathmatch Domination and Drop Zone each in their own unique playlist.

“Earn points for holding objectives and take down foes in the moshpit hybrid – Deathmatch Domination. Then, jump over to Drop Zone to earn Scorestreaks by locking down the objective.

“Shoot House and Shipment are both getting their own 24/7 playlist! Pick your favorite or jump into both to get a mix of modes on these two maps.”

A new Warzone Season 4 Battle Pass is expected to be announced by Activision before the Season 4 launch next week.

A big event could also happen with the launch of Warzone Season 4, with the latest teaser from Activision hinting at a weapon on the Verdansk map.

It was released as part of the Weekly Rank-Up Report shared by Activision, revealing that a deadly weapon had been found underground in Verdansk.

The message reads: “We have received word of a prototypical weapon hidden underground in Verdansk.

“Operator teams are already identifying where this weapon is, but at time of transmission, we do not know if they have been granted full access to its location.

“We have successfully disrupted aq communications and have wiretapped their calls. Unfortunately, they have countered our efforts with scramblers.

“The calls are now going to multiple hardlines in Verdansk. Listen closely to what they are saying during these transmissions, and brush up on your Russian – you might need it.

“Intel suggests the holding area containing the prototype opens via marked telephones in Verdansk. Furthermore, the access code changes frequently – aq knows this prototype is dangerous, not a toy.

“Be wary of aq sleeper agents spreading false codes to deter access to both enemies and allies. These codes may be shared through civilian media – e.g., videos, social media – and are not viable for completing this mission.

“The powerful prototype weapon is meant to be used by aq elite forces. We believe it to be a custom-built submachine gun. Extracting this weapon will further cripple their defences and bolster our own arsenal.

“This operation is top secret and should not be shared outside of armistice. We risk losing Verdansk and starting a global thermonuclear war if the extraction operation is compromised.

“Do not trust anyone outside of your squad in Verdansk. Treat anyone – including those within armistice – trying to access this prototype as a hostile force.

“Repeat: access the area, extract the prototype. weapons free on all threats to the operation.”
