Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.05 gets mixed response from gamers

CD Projekt has rolled out another extensive patch for Cyberpunk 2077, though it’s effectiveness is a matter of some debate.

While it’s easy to focus on the ever-increasing disasters surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, it’s important to note that CD Projekt is taking steps to try and fix things.

Recently, the company put out Hotfix 1.05, the game’s latest patch, which comes with an extensive list of fixes related to Cyberpunk 2077’s quests, gameplay, performance, and more.

According to CD Projekt, these fixes range from general stability improvements to more specific issues. For example, at the end of the Don’t Lose Your Mind quest, the character Delamain would appear upside-down.

The full list can be read here and the patch is now live across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game.

Judging by some responses, players’ opinions seem to be mixed. This Reddit thread features plenty of Xbox owners who have noticed substantial changes to the game following the patch and that things have slightly improved, with one player noting that they played for roughly 12 hours on Xbox One X and didn’t experience a single crash.

For PlayStation 4, some have apparently experienced issues with being trapped in their settings but restarting the game or rebooting the system appears to resolve this.

Otherwise, while minor, PlayStation 4 owners are reporting some improvements, even on the base console.

PC players, meanwhile, are debating over whether the patch has improved performance or made it worse.

One PC player claims that one of the fixes related to Dum Dum has also removed him from another quest he’s related to, while another says that they encountered a bug where their motorcycle exploded once they got on it.

This patch was never going to address every issue with the game with the first major update that isn’t a hotfix not due until January.

CD Projekt promised smaller patches like this one in the meantime and then a hopefully final one in February. With any luck, maybe Cyberpunk 2077 will be the game everyone hoped it would be by then.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are planned for 2021.
