Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Makes Night City Even More Dangerous

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world game, but the citizens of Night City hardly feel unique from one another. Couple that with the fact that you can't really interact with them at all, and much of the city can feel static and repetitive. But now, a new mod addresses exactly that, even if it comes at a price.

"Immersive City" by Nexus user tduality is a mod that makes Night City and its inhabitants feel much more alive. With this installed, civilians and enemies will spawn with varying levels of HP and strength, letting some of them finally put up a fight and take a few blows. All NPCs are also programmed to carry loot, giving you an actual reason to go on a crime spree other than sheer boredom. But with NPCs across the city getting buffed, you might want to be careful who you mess with.

The mission statement for Immersive City is simple: "Rob civilians, run from police, meet more dangerous enemies." With these changes installed, tduality says you can march around Night City as a gangster, like you're playing a futuristic GTA.

The full changes introduced in the mod are as follows:

  • "Loot money from the civilians and police.
  • Civilians now have 100% of health instead of 60, with that they end up defeated instead of dead more often than before.
  • Civilians can be of two levels. Their health is not always equal anymore.
  • Meet enemies of different levels. There is a random chance to meet a dangerous enemy of better level than yours."

So while you now have another way to earn some eddies, it isn't necessarily an easier method. If the cops are chasing after you, it seems that you could find them harder to defeat. But at least they'll drop some loot for your troubles.

Fans seem to be enjoying the mod so far, and it's been downloaded more than 2000 times since it was shared on the website last week. Some players are even requesting additional features be added, such as the ability to hold up store owners and loot whatever is in their cash register, so the mod is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
