Fortnite developer Epic Games has made a number of balance changes to Battle Royale. The surprise midweek update tweaks a number of weapons and items. Some weapons have been improved – with increased damage and faster fire rates – while other items have become harder to come by or do less damage. The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside full patch notes about what to expect.
Indeed, as you can see from the patch notes below, the Mythic Zyg and Choppy’s Ray Gun both charge and fire faster. Likewise, TnTina’s Bow charges, reloads, and recharges faster.
Elsewhere, the Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle has increased damage and faster fire rate, while the Gunnar Stinger SMG deals slightly more damage per bullet with decreased vertical recoil.
On the flipside, Slurp Juice is now much harder to find, so Epic suggests chugging wisely.
The Foundation’s Mythic MK-Seven Assault Rifle has reduced damage and a slightly slower fire rate, and the Sticky Grenade Launcher has a slower fire rate and a longer reload time.
Epic has also added a cooldown when swapping between two different Launchers.
