The developers over at Hoyoverse never disappoint with their character design, and it's proven again with the release of Cyno in Genshin Impact. He was one of the characters revealed in the Genshin manga and the Teyvat trailer, so the community was already looking forward to having him in the game from the beginning.
Cyno is an Electro vision holder who uses a Polearm as a weapon. He hails from the Desert area of Sumeru, and his appearance in the Version 3.1 trailer made many people scream in excitement. The ascension material required by this character can be found in various different places.
Cyno's Ascension Materials
Here's everything you'll need for different Ascension phases for Cyno:

The materials listed above are the ones required for Cyno's Ascension. You will still need more Mora and Wits to increase the character's level in order to ascend them further.
Where To Find Scarabs
Scarab is a regional specialty that can only be found in the Desert area of Sumeru released with Cyno in Version 3.1 update. You require a total of 168 of these specialties to fully ascend Cyno, which can be a daunting task.
These creatures are inspired by beetles with a similar name found in the Desert area around the world. They have a golden black pattern on them, looking a little similar to Onikabuto from Inazuma.
Where To Find Scrolls
Scrolls are dropped by Samachurls, a common enemy throughout Teyvat. Samachurl is a special Hilichurl who can manipulate different elements based on the staff they possess. They can be considered as the mage category of Hilichurls.
No matter where you go, you will find some Samachurls waiting for you to get Scrolls from them, which are vital to ascending Cyno. If you've been playing the game for a while, you likely have a ton of these drops already.
Where To Find Vajrada Amethysts And Thunderclap Fruitcores
Along with the Version 3.0 update, Electro Regisvine was released as a World Boss near the borders of Liyue and Sumeru. You can fight this boss every three minutes, and it has a chance to drop two to three Thunderclap Fruitcore every time at higher world levels.
Cryo is an important element while you're fighting this boss. As soon as the fight begins, the Regisvine will spawn a seed that will stay on the field until another one spawns. If these two seeds combine, they will deal lethal damage to your active character.
Get rid of the Regisvine's seed as soon as possible, and then focus on destroying the Regisvine's core leaving it in a vulnerable state. Once in this state, the boss has very low health, and you can easily defeat it. It will require 40 Original Resin to claim the rewards afterward.
You will also get Vajrada Amethyst from this boss, but it's not necessary to farm it if you're only looking for the crystals since you can also get them from other world and weekly bosses like:
- Electro Hypostasis (Mondstadt)
- Primo Geovishap (Liyue)
- Thunder Manifestation (Inazuma)
- Bathysmal Vishap Herd (Enkanomiya)
- Stormterror (Mondstadt)
- Childe (Liyue)
- Raiden Shogun (Inazuma)

All types of Admonition talent books can be acquired from the Steeple of Ignorance domain which is located in the northern area of the Sumeru Rainforest. You can only get these books on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. Some events that are exclusive to Sumeru also provide a bit of these books.
Finally, you can buy the Battle Pass and choose the Admonition books from the boxes you get from the premium tier every ten levels.
The material mentioned above is only for one talent, and you will have to get an amount equivalent to three times of those to upgrade all of Cyno's active talents.
