Giancarlo Esposito, the actor behind villains Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian and Antón Castillo in Far Cry 6, has expressed interest in playing Professor X in the coming X-Men reboot.
Speaking at a San Antonio comic convention, Esposito offered inspiring words for the crowd mixed in with revelations regarding his potential appearance in the next Marvel film.
"So… there's been talk of Magneto, there's been talk of Dr. Freeze, there has been talk… of Dr. Doom. And there is Professor X," said Esposito. The crowd made it clear who they preferred, and then Esposito offered his own opinion.
"I'm gonna go for something that's a little bit different," replied Esposito when asked to pick one of these iconic Marvel characters. "I'm gonna go and put it out in the universe that it is Professor X."
So far there hasn't been any official word on the X-men reboot teased at the end of Ms. Marvel. Sources speaking to Illuminerdi have put forth the rumored title of "The Mutants," but characters and dates haven't been confirmed.
In other Marvel news, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is about to return in a brand-new arcade machine courtesy of Arcade1Up. The cabinet will also include several other Capcom/Marvel fighters, including Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men: Children of the Atom, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, and Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems. However, the most exciting part of the cabinet will be built-in Wi-Fi for multiplayer compatibility. Pre-orders open in September, and although we don't have an official price tag, most of Arcade1Up's cabinets are priced at $500.
