God Wars Developer Kadokawa Games Has Three New Titles In Development, Including A Sequel

God Wars: Future Past developer Kadokawa Games reportedly has at least three games in development at the moment. The Japanese publisher is also known for its work on games like Steins;Gate, Killer is Dead, and RPG Maker.

God Wars: Future Past was originally released for the PS4 and PS Vita back in 2017, and was marketed as a tactical RPG game. The title was based on Japanese folklore, including some aspects of the Kojiki.

Future Past originally launched to mixed reviews, with critics praising the story, characterization, and length of the campaign, while the core gameplay, visuals, and battle duration were widely criticized. An expanded version of the game came out for the Nintendo Switch back in 2018, titled, God Wars: The Complete Legend.

During a recent interview with Famitsu, Kadokawa Games president Yoshimi Yasuda shared details on several new games the Japanese studio is currently working on. Two of these games are due to be revealed in 2021, and will possibly launch shortly after being announced.

Yasuda also stated that the publishing studio as a whole has grown relatively large due to the number of developers it has assimilated. The team has been recruiting veteran and young devs alike, offering the studio a healthy mix of the old and new as it continues development on its three current games.

The only game that we know for sure is being developed by Kadokawa Games is the upcoming God Wars sequel. The team has also been hard at work with a mecha RPG strategy, which is currently titled Project Stella.

Perhaps these are the two games that Kadokawa is planning to announce in the new year. For now, all we can do is wait until the studio is ready to offer some fresh new intel in 2021.
