GTA 6 fans may be facing an extra long wait for the Rockstar sequel to be released.
Despite Grand Theft Auto 5 first launching all the way back in 2013, Rockstar is yet to announce a release date for the sequel.
Now following the successful release of Red Dead Redemption 2, fans are eagerly awaiting news of the next GTA game.
But according to one industry analyst, fans could be waiting a long time for the game to launch.
Indeed, according to Jefferies analyst Alex Giaimo (via Comicbook), GTA 6 isn’t likely to be released until at least April 2021.
Because of the extended wait for the company’s next major release, Giaimo has advised people not to invest for the time being.
“Take-Two possesses the most high-quality content amongst the US publishers, yet valuation feels full,” he said.
“We struggle to find a near-term catalyst to push the multiple much higher at these levels. Despite the undeniable success of GTA and RDR [Red Dead Redemption series], we believe TTWO is now in a ‘soft spot’ when considering the timing of the next release.”
A delayed GTA 6 launch probably won’t come as much of a surprise to anybody who has been following the rumours.
According to one report, Grand Theft Auto 6 will have the biggest open-world map ever created by Rockstar.
It was also claimed that the Grand Theft Auto sequel would launch on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett, which makes sense given the timings being discussed.
If previous reports are to be believed, it may even launch on PS5 as a timed exclusive, before eventually coming to Xbox Scarlett.
Then there was an alleged leak posted on Reddit, which claimed that GTA 6 would actually take place in two locations.
The leak, which emerged on Reddit, claimed that GTA 6 will be set in the 70s/80s and will feature just one playable protagonist.
The next Grand Theft Auto game will allegedly take place in Vice City and Rio de Janeiro.
Judging by today’s reports, we could be waiting a long time to find out.
