GTA fans this past week are whipping themselves into a frenzy following the release of the latest GTA Online update, known as the Diamond Casino Heist DLC.
As with any new GTA update, there's a whole lot of new content added to the game, but with Rockstar fans already of the belief that the developer is working on GTA 6, they're now starting to see 'clues' wherever they look.
We'll admit, it seems fairly nailed on that Rockstar ARE working on a new GTA game. In fact, “Preliminary work” on GTA 6 supposedly started as far back as 2016, according to a report by Tech Radar , anyway.
So we would imagine 3 and a bit years later that Rockstar have to be working on something in the GTA series.
That being said, how much stock you want to put into these latest theories, well, that's really up to you.
For the time being, they're nothing more than elaborate theories
Destiny 2 Dawning 2019 Countdown: Start Time and rewards for Season of Dawn event
Fortnite Christmas Winterfest Event: When is release date and start time?
In one instance a GTA fan took a screenshot during the heist where they had spotted that the word ‘Service' had been split up, putting more emphasis on 'Vice'.
Which to fans is some sort of easter egg or even Rockstar trolling fans who largely believe that the new GTA will have an 80's style setting within the 'Vice' setting.
Going one step further, fans started 'decoding' the numbers on the wall, too.
“Someone mentioned in the comments that they heard Madam Nazar (added in the new update) saying "I see numbers, 5, 1, 0, 2, 0. If we merge this with the previous finding, we get 5th October 2020 or 5/10/2020.”
“GTA 5 Trailer 1 was released 2/11/2011, GTA 5 Trailer 2 was released 14/11/2012,” they finished. “RDR2 Trailer 1 was released 20/10/2016, RDR2 Trailer 2 was released 28/09/2017. So as we can see, the first few trailers of recent new Rockstar games release in Q4 of the year, which correlates with the 5/10/2020 date.”
GTA 6 Release Rumours, Leaks and News
If all of this sounds like WILD theory, then let us tell you, it's merely the tip of this crazy looking iceberg.
One thread suggested that one of the new songs from the recently added iFruit Radio station was also alluding to Vice City – because the song is "80s electronic hip hop" and "from an album titled '1985'".
Someone else theorized that the line "I see palm trees high in the sky, and shimmering pools of warm water, and people in, oh, oh dear…" my mystic Madam Nazar, is another clue.
Whilst someone else even suggested that because a car in one of the new arcade games could only (only?!) reach 88mph, this must be another clue for a year in which GTA 6 could be set.
To call it all fairly spurious, would be fair, but it's slightly intriguing just how far fans are willing to go right now to connect the dots over seemingly nothing.
We'll obviously put our hands up and stand corrected if any of the above (or other theories) genuinely turn out to be true.
But for now, we're willing convinced that unlikely to happen anytime soon.
