Knockout City Will Be Free To Play For Its First 10 Days, No Game Pass Needed

EA has revealed Knockout City, which arrives on multiple platforms later this month, will be free to play for its first ten days.

Trying to find a new twist on what is becoming a very crowded online multiplayer scene is incredibly difficult. EA believes it has discovered a yet-to-be explored corner of that market via Knockout City. The dodgeball-inspired title is coming to multiple platforms later this month, and EA has fulfilled its earlier promise of making the game free to play for a limited time.

From May 21, 2021, at 8 am EST until the same time on May 30, 2021, Knockout City will be free to play. That goes for everyone regardless of platform and if you have Game Pass or not. It was previously announced that Knockout City will be coming to Game Pass on day one. That is still true, and it will remain there after the ten-day free trial period has ended for everyone else.

Should you want to keep playing Knockout City after those ten days are up, it will cost you $19.99. EA will be doing all that it can to keep you on board too. The trial will not be limited whatsoever. The entire game will be accessible during this time, including the start of Knockout City’s very first season which will kick off on May 25.

You can check out everything you will be able to take advantage of during Knockout City’s free trial period above. The Block Party will include the chance to go up against the game’s devs should you feel equipped to do so after five days of access, and then Knockout City’s first two community tournaments right after that. It will also support cross-play and cross-progression for anyone playing on different platforms or playing with friends using different platforms.

Letting people play a brand new game for free at launch is becoming a popular trend. Fall Guys launching on PS Plus resulted in it being the most downloaded PS Plus game ever. Destruction AllStars did the same thing earlier this year. The only difference with Knockout City is EA hopes you will still want to pay for it ten days later. Knockout City launches on May 21, 2021, on PS4, Xbox One,  Nintendo Switch, PC on Origin, Steam and Epic Games Store, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility.
