Magic: The Gathering hasn't had the best of times lately, but Wizards of the Coast is probably hoping it can shake off some recent controversy by teasing an upcoming Transformers Secret Lair crossover. The Autobots and Decepticons already hit Magic: The Gathering last month in The Brothers' War, but now Magic is teasing a separate Secret Lair crossover for fans to look forward to.
The Secret Lair itself was teased via the official Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair Twitter account, with an image of what is more than likely Optimus Prime shrouded in darkness. The image also displays the caption "Till All Are Won" with a date of December 5 this year in the centre. You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out that we'll probably see a proper reveal of the Secret Lair early next month, possibly with a date for when they'll become available to grab.
Unfortunately for Wizards, this Secret Lair's tease hasn't gone down well with fans though, who continue to spam images of the Greed card in the replies to most of Magic: The Gathering's latest tweets. This is in response to the release of the controversial and extremely expensive 30th Anniversary Edition, which has been a pretty sore point for Magic fans this past couple of months. To make matters even worse, the edition also recently sold out within minutes of being made public just yesterday.
You'd like to think that all of those copies would have at least gotten into the hand of genuine Magic fans, but copies have unsurprisingly started cropping up on Ebay, being scalped for up to $1,500 at a time. I guess we shouldn't be too surprised about this, as the 30th Anniversay Edition Countdown Kit's also had a disastrous launch which led to mass scalping. It's definitely not been a great couple of month for Magic and Wizards of the Coast.
