New 4K Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer footage looks much better

Infinity Ward has released its own video of Modern Warfare running on a PS4 Pro, showing the new Gunfight mode in much clearer detail.

We already got our first look at the new Call Of Duty’s multiplayer mode last week, but all the footage of new mode Gunfight came from YouTubers – which meant you had to put up with them braying all the way through the videos.

But, after fans complained, Infinity Wards released its own, more professionally produced, video, showing the 2v2 multiplayer mode being played on a PS4 Pro in 4K.

What’s interesting about the new footage is that not only does it look better but it seems to play a lot faster, although whether that’s because of a gameplay tweak or just how the YouTubers were playing it before is unclear.

Gunfight mode is based on ‘multi-round cage matches’, with the first to win six rounds being the winner. Everyone gets the same loadout, which is switched automatically every two rounds – when the teams also swap to start at the opposite end of the map.

There are also some overtime rules where if a round lasts more than 40 seconds a flag spawns and you’ve got 10 seconds to capture it. So there’s a lot going on.

Although Gunfight is fairly different to more traditional Call Of Duty multiplayer modes the basic gunplay and animations (and excellent sound design) will obviously be the same across everything.

The multiplayer is next due to be shown off on Thursday, 1 August during a new live show. Which might also be the point at which we get to see the still secret co-op mode.
