New Assassin’s Creed Jade Leak Lets Fans Sign Up To Early Beta

In addition to gameplay footage, Assassin's Creed Jade's early beta signups have also leaked online. Ubisoft had asked that testers not share information about the upcoming mobile Assassin's Creed game, but it seems like there were more than a few signups that decided to disregard restrictions preventing information from getting out of the testing environment.

As reported by In Game Loop, signups were available for Assassin's Creed Jade via a Google Doc. Prospective testers would just need to enter their email and Discord name to receive a response with a code for TestFlight, the testing platform used by iOS. From there, players would receive a code to download Assassin's Creed Jade to their mobile devices as well as instructions not to divulge information gleaned from the alpha test.

The Google Doc and the TestFlight pages are now saying that Ubisoft isn't accepting more applications, but we can get a sense of what those lucky few are experiencing thanks to various gameplay leaks. Over the weekend, two minutes of footage showed what appears to be the opening moments of Assassin's Creed Jade, with characters being introduced and the player being sent on a mission to defend the village from marauders. Combat looked a lot like a modern Assassin's Creed, only on a tiny device.

There wasn't any dialog and there was a lot of placeholder text, but it seemed like the game was fully playable. Additional footage has popped up, also courtesy of In Game Loop, with even more gameplay. In the latest footage, you get to see the touch controls, the player's parkour and wall-climbing abilities, as well as sneak attacks and takedowns. We also get to see various in-game locations, such as Fushi City, Redwoods, Didao Ridge, Great Wall, Gaonu, Gaunu Terrace, State Market, Yangzhou Palace, and Yangzhou City.

Assassin's Creed Jade is set in the year 215 BCE during China's Qin dynasty. The game will feature characters such as Dengling Bai and Wei Yu, although the player is said to be able to create their own character. Assassin's Creed Jade is due out sometime in 2023.
