Proof that Black Friday really was a complete waste of time has come via a new Switch bundle that’s better than almost anything last week.
We’re not sure what Nintendo are thinking with the timing, but just as Sony started a Christmas sale the second Black Friday was over now the Nintendo Switch has got a console bundle that’s a lot better than almost anything last month.
It’s an official bundle too, with a specially branded box and the newer model of the original Switch, with better battery life.
What’s so appealing is that it comes with top game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and costs just £280, essentially netting the game for free.
Nintendo aren’t allowed to set prices themselves, after that time they got caught price fixing by the European Commission, so the bundle is actually going for a wide variety of different prices at retailers including Amazon, GAME, Argos, Smyths, ShopTo, and Nintendo themselves.
Even Nintendo is selling it at £279.99, so we don’t know what GAME and Smyths are doing being more expensive than that, but Amazon and ShopTo are also throwing in a Nintendo Labo kit as well.
ShopTo is the absolute cheapest at £279.85 but only seems to have the Vehicle Kit. Amazon is a little more expensive at £299.98 but has a choice of the Variety Kit, Robot Kit, or Vehicle Kit.
Update: It seems the official price is £329.98, so it’s not clear how long some of these prices may last…
By comparison, the best deal on Black Friday, which quickly sold out, was £299.99 with Pokémon Sword and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at Very.co.uk.
Since Pokémon Sword is so new that’s probably the better deal overall – assuming you actually want that game – but £280 with Mario Kart is nothing to sniff at either.
