Lately, a lot of console players have been complaining about a newly popular error code in Overwatch.
The issue seems to be most common on console, though some PC players have been noticing the error crop up in their games, too.
Reportedly most sever on the game's PlayStation 4 servers, the error code suggests a bad connection on the player's side of the game – though it seems users with otherwise perfectly fine connections are getting issued with this error code.
Luckily, there is a way to fix it.
How to fix LC-202 error in Overwatch
As with every kind of connection issue, the first thing you should try is disconnecting and reconnecting something.
This time, it just so happens to be disconnecting your console account from your Blizzard account, then reconnecting them later.
To do this, you need to log onto the Blizzard site and navigate your way to 'account settings'.
Disconnect your PlayStation or Xbox account, wait a little while, then reconnect it. This may solve the issue.
What is Overwatch?
Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. Described as a "hero shooter," Overwatch assigns players into two teams of six, with each player selecting from a roster of over 30 characters, known as "heroes," each with a unique style of play that is divided into three general roles that fit their purpose. Players on a team work together to secure and defend control points on a map or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time.
If problems persist, you may need to check your firewall and network configuration settings to make sure the game has the best connection it can get.
Ensure you read through the network configuration page of the Blizzard site and make a note of any firewall, router or port issues that could be interfering with your game.
It may also be worth unplugging your router, waiting 60 seconds, and plugging it back in. This may solve some issues and make the game run smoothly.
If you've tried all these steps and the LC-202 error persists, it may be worth contacting Blizzard’s Technical Support team to figure out what your next steps should be.
