It was recently confirmed that the long-rumored Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is currently in the works. Footage of the remake is apparently scheduled to air during tonight’s Ubisoft Forward event.
The news originally comes from Russian website DTF, who took to Twitter in order to share information about the Prince of Persia leak. You can check out the tweet below, which includes a brief clip of the remake that recently leaked on the Russian uPlay store.
When roughly translated, the above tweet reads as follows:
“An advertisement for the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time appeared in Uplay ahead of time – a user [at] DTF drew attention to it.”
“The official announcement will take place tonight at Ubisoft Forward.”
It’s worth noting that there were already rumors circulating about the potential for a Prince of Persia remake to be announced at tonight’s Ubisoft Forward event. To add fuel to the fire, separate rumors pertained that the official reveal for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake could take place any day now.
But those are just rumors – the fact that a listing for the official Prince of Persia remake was added to a Guatemalan store page was far more concrete evidence. But even that pales in comparison to the most recent leak on uPlay, which actually featured official footage of the game.
However, Nintendo Switch players will be somewhat disappointed to hear that the purported leak suggesting that the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake would be arriving on Switch has since been denounced as false.
At the moment, we don’t have any information about a release date for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, nor do we know what platforms it will be coming to. However, according to the site who broke the news of it leaking on the Russian uPlay store, we’ll likely find out a whole lot more about the game at Ubisoft Forward tonight.
