Godfall’s launch trailer confirms that the game is a timed exclusive and will release on other consoles after May 2021.
Godfall, the first PlayStation 5 game to be announced, is releasing in less than a week’s time, making it also one of the first PS5 games available to play.
While it was also confirmed to release on PC, its announcement indicated that it would be a PS5 console exclusive, though some wondered if it would release on Xbox Series X as well, since it wasn’t being developed or published by any of Sony’s studios.
Turns out that may just happen, as Godfall’s launch trailer mentions that it will be available on other consoles after May 12 2021.
It doesn’t specifically mention the Xbox Series X/S, but given the game is a next gen only title, it’s probably safe to assume that an Xbox release will follow at some point next year.
The question now is how it will run on Microsoft’s console. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S bear some similarities, both capable of offering high framerates and faster loading times.
However, with the Xbox Series S being less powerful, it may have less impressive visuals.
An Xbox release certainly won’t have any haptic feedback feature since that’s exclusive to the PS5’s DualSense controller.
At this point, all anyone can do is speculate until Microsoft and/or Gearbox comments on a potential Xbox release.
Godfall will release for PlayStation 5 and PC on November 12.
