Red Dead Redemption 2 UPDATE: Red Dead Online news and Rockstar DLC latest

Will the next Red Dead Redemption 2 Online update arrive on PS4 and Xbox One in the coming weeks, or will fans be waiting till later in the summer to play?

That’s the question a lot of gamers are asking following the new shared this week concerning the next multiplayer DLC release from Rockstar Games.

Because we know that the development team have been busy working on another big content expansion for another big online game.

GTA 5 Online appears to be next for the update treatment, with more information shared about the Casino coming to the game this Summer.

But Rockstar has yet to confirm which game will be updated first, making it hard to gauge what will be coming first.

As a rough prediction based on what new information has been shared, it appears Red Dead Online players will be waiting a little longer for the Summer expansion.

That will mean relying on those weekly content drops until the new career expansions are released in late July or beyond.

The good news is that there still seems to be new modes, bonuses, and cosmetic items being dropped into RDR2.

This includes the new Elimination Series, which went live in Red Dead Online earlier this week. In the Elimination Series playlist, there are no second chances, with players needing to do their best with one life.

Available from the Red Dead Online menu screen, you can jump into the Elimination Series to compete in Make It Count with the Bow and Arrow or Throwing Knives in a variety of locales.

Players can also jump into the large variant to take on Gun Rush in larger groups, with a 30% XP and RDO$ boost available to anyone who tries it.

And winning a match in the Elimination Playlist, will earn you a 60x High Velocity ammo for each class of gun, including Pistol, Revolver, Repeater and Rifle.

And it was only last week when Sport of Kings was added to the game, challenging Cowpokes to battle on horseback to secure the burning torch and ride through all their team’s signal fires to score.

There is also plenty of new cosmetic items to check out and care packages to earn, albeit, with very limited time to do so.

“For those who still have yet to hit Ranks 10 and 20 in Red Dead Online, you have until June 24th to cross these thresholds and earn a pair of special one-time care packages stuffed with valuable ammo and provisions,” a message from Rockstar Games explains.

“Players who are at least Rank 10 will get premium hunting supplies including baits to lure game, 20 Small Game Arrows that help deliver clean kills to smaller animals and Poison Arrows for taking down large and dangerous prey. You’ll also get 20 Fire Arrows to take into combat.

“If you hit at least Rank 20 by June 24th, you’ll get useful provisions, from 5 tins of Jolly Jack’s that fortify your Dead Eye meter with a gold outer bar and 3 Oregano Big Game Meat that give your Stamina meter a gold core.”

Fans will have to wait a little longer to find out when the big Red Dead Online summer expansion is going to drop. But the wait is almost over for those fans hoping to snap up the original Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack.

Rockstar has announced that the official music from the game will be available to purchase next month.

The Music Of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Soundtrack is available to pre-order now and comes with “Crash of Worlds” by Rocco DeLuca and “Table Top” by Daniel Lanois as immediate downloads.

The Original Soundtrack will be released digitally on July 12, 2019, in collaboration with Lakeshore Records, with pre-orders available from iTunes.

“A powerful, emotional journey through the final days of America’s outlaw era, The Music Of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Soundtrack is produced by 11-time Grammy Award winner Daniel Lanois, with all music created exclusively for the game,” the official soundtrack description reads.

“Lanois is known for his work with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Willie Nelson as well as collaborating with pioneering musician Brian Eno to produce several albums for U2 including the multi-platinum The Joshua Tree.”
