Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion is set to get a special guest star, as Stormzy gets his own mission set in a dystopian version of London.
No less than Stormzy himself is set to star in Watch Dogs: Legion, with a mission called Fall on My Enemies in which you have to help him protect a broadcast of his song Rainfall in the game’s near-future version of central London.
The plot behind Watch Dogs: Legion is set several years after Brexit, with a ‘defeated government’ leading to London being in the hands of mercenaries and criminal gangs.
You’re in control of resistance group Deadsec, with the game allowing you to control any ordinary character you meet in the game as you try to free the capital.
The announcement included a look at the official music video for Rainfall, taken from Stormzy’s album Heavy is the Head, which will also be part of the mission.
Stormzy was first approached by Ubisoft almost a year ago, so he was able to do the motion capture and everything before the pandemic hit. (His other appearance in the video is presumably him at home, where he definitely seems in need of a better microphone for his webcam.)
Ubisoft also announced that Aiden Pearce, the main character in the first Watch Dogs game, will be playable as part of the game’s post-launch DLC.
The Stormzy mission will be there from day one though, when the game launches on 29 October for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
It will also be a launch title for Xbox Series X/S on November 10 and presumably a launch title for PlayStation 5 as well, whenever it’s coming out.
