Street Fighter 6 beta is launching soon, with Capcom holding a playtest for the next entry in its iconic fighting series in October. The Street Fighter 6 closed beta is taking place between October 7 and October 10, with the playtest available on PS5, Xbox Series X and S as well as Steam. During the beta crossplay will be available between these platforms.

To be able to play in the beta test, you will need to apply to take part on the official website.

You will also need to create a Capcom ID to apply for the Street Fighter 6 beta. And you will also need to be connected to a broadband internet connection while you play it, but you won’t need a PS Plus membership or an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Also, to avoid disappointment remember just because you request to take part in the beta it doesn’t mean that you will get selected for it.

Explaining the purpose of the beta test Capcom said: “The aim of the closed beta test is for us to monitor the play experience of participants, identify any potential issues, and then address them in order to improve the quality of the game.

“As such, it is possible that errors may occur during the test that cause the game to freeze or close during gameplay.

“The test sessions will use a version of the game still in development. As a result, we cannot guarantee a smooth gameplay experience. Please bear all of this in mind when taking part in the test.

“A survey for feedback to be shared with the development and operation teams will be sent out to everyone who participates in the closed beta test.”

In terms of what will be playable during the beta test, a fair amount of Street Fighter 6 modes will be open to those participating.

The modes available will be Ranked Match, Casual Match, Battle Hub Match, Open Tournament, Extreme Battle, Game Center and Training Mode.

In terms of what else will be unlocked the playable characters in the beta test are Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri and Ken.

You will also be able to create your own character / avatar for the Battle Hub.
