Bossa Studios has announced today that Surgeon Simulator 2 is prepping for surgery on Steam. After launching last August as an Epic Games Store exclusive, the surgery “simulator” will be finding a new home on Valve’s platform. Set to release “once we get our hand under control,” a new store page is live for you to wishlist and tell your friends about.
Henrique Olifiers, Co-CEO of Bossa Studios, said in a press release, “We’re thrilled to share Surgeon Simulator 2 with all of our fans on Steam. While players have been able to get their hands on the game so far via the Epic store, soon they’ll have another option for purchasing it. We know that our community has wanted this for some time, and we’re pleased to unveil the store page today so that players can start adding it to their Wishlists!”
The biggest addition in Surgeon Simulator 2 is that of a four-player co-op mode. Tasking wannabe doctors with saving the lives of various patients while navigating dramatic obstacle courses, 2 certainly doubles down on the charm of the original while fleshing out the mechanics to be more than a gimmick.
There won’t be any additional content for this Steam release, but players will be able to team up with their comrades on the Epic version. That should make for packed ORs if you’re brave enough to tackle this game with random players. With the game listed at $24.99 on Epic, it’s safe to assume the Steam version will cost the same when it eventually releases.
