Tetris Effect is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X in the form of Tetris Effect: Connected, as revealed during the July 2020 Xbox Game Showcase. This new, expanded version of the game will be a limited-time console exclusive for Xbox before releasing for PS4 and Oculus Quest in Summer 2021.
Tetris Effect: Connected includes everything from the original Tetris Effect but adds brand-new co-op and competitive multiplayer modes that can be played both online or locally. Cooperative play goes up to three players while competitive play sees two people go head-to-head. If you don’t have anyone to play with, Connected adds computer-controlled players.
If you choose to take your skills online, Connected’s competitive play includes both unranked and ranked playlists, with a new in-game progression tracker allowing you to unlock avatars to represent your specific style.
Tetris Effected: Connected will support Smart Delivery so if you choose to buy the game on Xbox One, you’ll automatically upgrade to an enhanced Xbox Series X version for free when you play the game on the next-gen console. And if you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you don’t even have to pay for Tetris Effect: Connected–the game will be available through the service at launch for Xbox consoles and PC.
Tetris Effect: Connected is scheduled to release during the Holiday 2020 season.
