After leaks and more leaks, like a trail of clues that Nathan Drake himself would have no trouble following, it is finally confirmed. The long awaited PC port of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection has now got an official launch date, and it's the one that has been previously leaked by Epic Games Store. We can expect the Naughty Dog collection to appear on PC on October 19 via Steam and Epic.
Confirmed via the PlayStation Blog, we got some further details about how nice the Uncharted collection will play on PC too. If you didn't know, the collection features Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. These are two full games, which both first appeared on the PS4. They were subsequently remastered for the PS5 as this collection, with boosts in graphics and performance, and the PC port should get similar upgrades provided you have the hardware to run it of course.
Per the PS Blog, the PC version has been optimised for the platform with "PC-centric quality-of-life enhancements". These include new UI, scale sliders, GPU and VRAM detection, Variable Load Speed, among much else. You can watch the pre-purchase trailer for the PC port below:
Perhaps one of the biggest draws will be support for ultra-wide monitors, which will surely display the breathtaking landscapes Uncharted is known for in some glorious ultra widescreen. The feature was included for the PC port of Marvel's Spider-Man (linked above), which our features editor Eric Switzer called "stunning" in his review of the port. While it was made by a different developer, considering the reputation for craftsmanship Naughty Dog has earned for itself, perhaps we can expect a similarly good adaptation for ultra-wide monitors for the Uncharted collection.
PC players can also expect adjustable texture and model quality, anisotropic filtering, shadows, reflections, and ambient occulusion. Basically, expect some nice graphical upgrades and adjustments that can be tweaked to your heart's content for however beefy your PC gaming rig or laptop is. The PC port also supports the DualSense, which alllows for haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effect, but needs a wired connection to your PC, while the DualShock 4, and a bunch of PC-specific peripherals are also supported.
There's support for "next-level temporal upscaling" for framerates too, with support for AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution 2. To get 60fps in 4K at Ultra Settings, you're gonna need some high-grade hardware though, with the PC specs recommended for that to be an Intel i9, an Nvidia RTX 3080, 16GB of RAM, and at least 126GB SSD. A fuller list of recommended specs can be found on the PS blog here.
You can pre-order the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on Steam or Epic, and it sells for £44.99/$49.99. It launches October 19, with pre-purchases on Epic giving players Sully's "New" Seaplane, an in-game glider, to use in Fortnite.
