Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get the current edition of eFootball PES 2020 this month, as well as the return of Tom Clancy’s The Division next week. And, oh yeah, Halo: Reach on consoles and PCs, too.
The Division, which dropped out of Xbox Game Pass in March to make way for Ubisoft Montreal’s sequel, launched in 2016. It’s joined by Konami’s soccer title, which arrived in September and gives Electronic Arts’ FIFA 20 a solid run for its money, in our view anyway. At any rate, current-year sports video games are a rarity in the libraries of premium services like Games With Gold, PlayStation Plus, Game Pass, and PlayStation Now.
The Division and PES 2020 are joined by Halo: Reach for both Xbox One and Windows PC. The 2010 chapter of Microsoft’s sci-fi shooter finds the United Nations Space Command’s Noble Team matched against impossible odds on the ring world called Reach, set before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved.
Other Xbox Game Pass highlights for December include the day-and-date launches of indie games Demon’s Tilt and Wandersong. Demon’s Tit, arriving on Friday, Dec. 6, is a shoot-em-up billed as “a tribute to ‘90s video pinball games,” which includes boss battles and other unlockables to challenge hardcore pinball fans.
Overcooked 2 also joins the Xbox Game Pass library on Dec. 12. And the offer still stands, for new subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, of a free month of EA Access, three months of Discord Nitro, and six months of Spotify Premium. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which combines Xbox Live Gold with access to the Xbox Game Pass library, and tosses in Windows PC access to the catalog, is $14.99 a month.
