With Days Gone only being a couple days away, Bend Studio has begun talking about the free DLC that will give players a new difficulty mode, new challenges, and much more this June.
Announced on the PlayStation Blog, game director Jeff Ross explains that this DLC will include the ‘Survival’ difficulty mode that will challenge Days Gone players with “increased difficulty settings, no fast travel or Survival Vision, and an immersive HUD that removes maps and indicators from the gameplay screen.”
The goal of this new mode was to immerse players even further and really “ratchet up the tension to make this the definitive survival experience.”
Also arriving in June are new Bike, Horde, and Combat challenges that will be dropped each week and will offer twists on key gameplay features of Days Gone.
Furthermore, completing the ‘Survival’ difficulty mode and challenges will earn players new trophies and unique bike skins as a way of showing that they are, in fact, the ultimate survivor.
Days Gone will be released on Friday, April 26 on PlayStation 4 and we will be streaming the game later today at 1pm PT/4pm ET and tomorrow at 7:30pm PT/10:30pm ET.
