If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, you can find Xur on Titan, hanging out in a shed to hide from the rain.
Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Vigilance Wing, pulse rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Chromatic Fire, Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
- Ophidia Spathe, Hunter arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Aeon Safe, Titan arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards
Destiny 2 guide: Complete list of Exotics
Xur’s inventory caps out at 731 if you’re 750. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces.
Vigilance Wing is one of Destiny 2’s coolest and most unique exotic weapons. It’s a pulse rifle that, due to the exotic perk Harsh Truths, fires in five-round bursts instead of three. (Harsh Truths also provides healing when an ally dies.) Vigilance Wing can do very high damage very quickly, especially if you hit an enemy in their critical spot.
The second exotic perk, Last Stand, gives better stability and handling when you are the last living member of your fireteam. Vigilance Wing is a PvP exotic through and through. That isn’t to say that you can’t use it in PvE, but it’s designed for action against real players.
After Forsaken and the time to kill adjustments, Vigilance Wing has lost some serious power when compared to other tools in the Crucible. However, it’s still a fun gun to use and extremely unique.
The Ophidia Spathe chest piece’s exotic perk is Scissor Fingers, which lets hunters throw two knives per charge. This exotic is pretty neat, and throwing knives have always been fun to use in Destiny. This piece is also fairly unique, as it lets players hold two charges of their melee ability while also granting them two charges instantly upon recharge.
With the recent addition of Way of a Thousand Cuts in Forsaken, this is one of the best Hunter chest pieces in the game. When combined with the subclass’ unique abilities, you can essentially throw knifes constantly. It’s a really fun playstyle, and definitely worth trying out if you have a Hunter.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Unflinching Linear Fusion Rifle Aim, Unflinching Power Aim, Unflinching Light Arms Aim
Slot 2: Auto Rifle Reserves, Primary Ammo Finder

Part of the Aeon exotic line added in Curse of Osiris, the Aeon Safe gauntlets are for Titans. Their exotic perk is Aeon Energy, which gives class energy to nearby allies wearing other Aeon armor pieces each time you cast barricade. Non-Aeon users will also receive some energy. This is a terrible exotic and you can easily get it by completing the Curse of Osiris campaign on your Titan. Don’t buy these.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Auto Rifle Loader, Scout Rifle Loader, Submachine Gun Loader
Slot 2: Grenade Launcher Scavenger, Special Ammo Finder

Chromatic Fire is a new Warlock exotic added in Forsaken. Its exotic perk is Crystalline Transistor. Getting precision kills with your Kinetic weapon creates an elemental explosion — like the Dragonfly perk — based on your current subclass. This perk is useful if you’re fighting large groups of enemies at once, or need extra elemental help against enemies.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Unflinching Hand Cannon Aim, Unflinching Scout Rifle Aim, Unflinching Large Arms
Slot 2: Sidearm Reserves, Special Ammo Finder
If you haven’t completed the Invitation quest yet, Xur is still offering it for nine Legendary Shards.
