Everything we know so far about Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 ‘Fortnite Wilds’

It feels like just yesterday since the release of the last chapter of Fortnite plunged players into its neon-drenched cyberpunk areas.

But Epic Games has clearly been hard at work as it has just dropped two mysterious teaser trailers for the next season of Fortnite, nicknamed Fortnite 'Wilds'.

What's more, they've even unveiled the release date as this weekend, meaning we don't have to wait long to find out what they've been up to.

What is Fortnite Wilds?

There isn't much to go on just yet besides the two short teaser trailers that Epic Games published on Twitter.

The clips show the Island experiencing yet another cataclysmic event, with the ground falling away to reveal ancient Aztec-style temples in a dense jungle.

Epic Games have given little else away, but included the caption: "Cracked, but not broken. Overgrown, but not forbidden. Lost, but not forgotten. What lies underneath the surface?".

However, fan speculation is rife, with rumours suggesting that the new season will include the Transformers character Optimus Prime to tie-in with the new Transformers: Rise of the Beasts film.

This is based on a leaked image of a loading screen posted on Reddit which allegedly shows a character riding a dinosaur, leading some to believe the game could bring back elements of its 'Primal' area from Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 6.

When does the new season of Fortnite come out?

According to Epic Games' teaser trailer, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is coming out on June 9, meaning that you could be playing it as soon as this weekend.

It's not clear exactly which time it will launch, but at the very least, we won't have long to wait to find out what Fortnite Wilds has in store for us.

As usual, there is likely to be downtime on Fortnite as Epic updates the game, so it's a good idea to get your last hours of play on the current island in before the weekend.
