If you’re wondering when you’ll be able to start playing wrestling-themed role-playing game Wrestlequest, then developer Mega Cat Studios has some bad news for you. Originally scheduled to launch on August 8, Wrestlequest has been delayed on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC. According to a statement by the development team, the game has been given a new release date of August 22 on all platforms.
Fortunately, however, it’s not all bad news, because the Wrestlequest development team will use the time to fix a nasty bug that’s been wiping out save files.
“When performing final checks on one of our launch platforms, we discovered it was possible for players to lose their save game progress when playing WrestleQuest on multiple different devices,” reads a Mega Cat Studios statement.
“Because this is a game filled with hours of content and player progress is so important, we could never bodyslam our fans like that.
“We are truly proud of this game and believe that we have a product that delivers on all counts. We’re blown away by the support we’ve seen from players excited for WrestleQuest and we can’t wait to share the finished game with everyone on August 22.”
Despite the delay, some Wrestlequest reviews have appeared online ahead of the new release date.
The game has received mixed feedback, with some critics pointing out the number of bugs found within the campaign.
Hopefully the delay will give Mega Cat the chance to fix most of the bugs, and deliver a much more satisfying experience.

As a long time wrestling fan, Wrestlequest is definitely one of the more intriguing releases of the year.
The role-playing game features a turn-based combat system made up of various wrestling moves. It also features cameos from legendary wrestlers like Macho Man Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, Jake the Snake Roberts and Diamond Dallas Page.
“Powerbomb and piledrive your way through a massive pixel art universe where professional wrestling and RPG fantasy collide,” reads the official description.
“Upgrade from aspiring rookie to world champ by training, learning, glamming, and SLAMMING to the top of the pro wrestling food chain.
“Wild realms, exotic monsters, action figure fighters, and spandexed allies await as this fantasy goes beyond the ring.”
