Paldea region Pocket Monsters join Pokemon Go: Niantic app is finally up to date

Pokemon Go developer has announced plans to bring Paldea Pocket Monsters to the popular iOS and Android app. The addition of the Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet means that after seven years, Pokemon Go is finally up to date in terms of regional Pokemon. The Paldea region of Pokemon will join Pokemon Go as part of the Adventures Abound season, which launches at 10am local time on September 1.

Judging by a new blog post on the Pokemon Go website, the Paldean Pokemon will launch as part of the season’s first in-game event on September 5.

Titled A Paldean Adventure, the event runs from September 5 until September 10.

Pokemon making their debut as part of the event include Scarlet and Violet starter Pokemon Sprigatito, the Fire-type crocodile Fuecoco, and the Water-type duck Quaxly.

That’s on top of Lechonk, Oinkologne, Oinkologne, Floragato, Meowscarada, Crocalor, Skeledirge, Quaxwell and Quaquaval.

Once the event comes to an end, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly may hatch from 5 km Eggs. Likewise, Lechonk may hatch from 2 km Eggs.

A Special Research task will also be available from September 5. Featuring branching paths, players will be able to select a Paldean Pokemon to partner up with.

In addition to Pokemon from the Paldea region, trainers can expect to encounter Unown A, Unown D, Unown E, Unown L and Unown P in Raids. According to Niantic, Shiny Unown Pokemon will also appear.

Speaking of Shiny Pokemon, Pocket Monsters like Hoppip, Houndour, Buizel and Fletchling will appear as Shinies more frequently.

Needless to say, new Avatar items and other bonuses will make their debut during the season, including clothing based on The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
